The Caltrans Division of Local Assistance (DLA) and California LTAP (CALTAP) hosted this February 2026 Edition of "Local Assistance Day", a quarterly statewide webinar designed to update and inform our RTPA, MPO, local agency, and tribal partners, and all other interested transportation parties.
LAD presentations focus on topics rooted in information sharing, local project delivery policies, processes, and procedures, and the peer-sharing of agency best practices.

Local Assistance Day webinars are free to attend and are encouraged for anyone who works with Caltrans local assistance processes for local and tribal agencies. To share suggestions for topics you'd like covered in an upcoming episode, or if you have any questions regarding local assistance in California, contact DLA.
DLA oversees over $1B in annual funding that California's 600+ cities, counties, and regional agencies use to improve their transportation infrastructure and provide transportation services.
This represents roughly 1,200 new projects authorized annually through the Local Assistance Program, of which ~700 are construction related.
Local Assistance Day (LAD) is a free quarterly webinar that provides a regular platform for California’s local public agencies to connect directly with subject matter experts on topics ranging from critical industry announcements to local project delivery policies, processes, and procedures to the peer-sharing of agency best practices.
Presentation topics are updated in response to local demand and current priorities and can be found posted to the event registration page as each upcoming agenda is formalized.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
