Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is seeking nominations for tribal representatives to serve on the Tribal Transportation Program Coordinating Committee (TTPCC).
The committee consists of 24 representatives (two from each BIA Region) and 2 non-voting federal representatives, one each from the BIA and FHWA, who advise the Departments of Transportation and Interior on critical transportation matters.
BIA is currently accepting nominations for one committee member from each of the 12 BIA Regions for terms ending September 30, 2029.
The nominations must be transmitted to Mr. LeRoy Gishi on official tribal government letterhead, signed by a tribal government official who has been authorized in writing to submit the nominee on behalf of the tribal government.
Supporting documentation must include the nominee's resume detailing relevant education and training, current job description, and professional experience level in tribal transportation program areas.
Nominations must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on August 1, 2026.
The Tribal Transportation Program Coordinating Committee is a federally mandated advisory body that provides input to the BIA and FHWA on the Tribal Transportation Program (TTP).
It supplements government-to-government consultation to develop TTP regulations, policies, and procedures
