Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
The National Center for Rural Road Safety (NCRRS) celebrates the graduation of 59 participants of its Road Safety Champion Program (RSCP) in fall 2025, including several practitioners who completed training in at least two career pathways.
According to Center Director Jaime Sullivan, this trend reflects a growing desire among practitioners to expand safety knowledge across disciplines. “As we’ve added new career pathways, interest in RSCP enrollment has increased,” Sullivan said. “The uptick of graduates from multiple pathways signals that the Center is offering the kind of road safety training that practitioners are looking for, particularly those interested in understanding safety from the Safe System Approach perspective as applied across various career pathways.”
RSCP is a nationally recognized certification program that provides intensive "Road Safety 101" training through web-based modules that cover the core topics of road safety and road safety within the Planning & Engineering (P&E), Maintenance & Construction (M&C), First Responders (FR), and Public Health (PH) career pathways.
