Recording: Quick-Build Traffic Safety Improvements

Posted: 3/23/2026

On March 17, 2026, the Safety Navigator for California Communities (SNCC) hosted a free webinar on Quick-Build Traffic Safety Improvements to showcase how these strategies have been implemented on real streets.

The recording of this session is now available.

Quick-build traffic safety improvements are low-cost, rapidly deployed street design changes that improve safety in the near term while allowing agencies to test, adjust, and refine designs before committing to permanent construction. These interventions—including paint, flexible posts, curb extensions, high-visibility crosswalks, and temporary materials—enable agencies to address safety concerns quickly and adapt based on real-world performance data.

In this webinar, panelists shared practical insights on their use of quick-build approaches, how to move from concept to installation quickly, and lessons learned from real-world implementation. The discussion also covered strategies for community engagement and stakeholder buy-in—critical factors for project success. These firsthand experiences offer valuable guidance for agencies looking to accelerate their traffic safety programs.

This session was designed for public agency staff, planners, engineers, consultants, and partners seeking to deliver meaningful traffic safety improvements cost-effectively.
