Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
TRAINING: August 20, 2024, 8:30AM - 12:30PM PT [CLOSED]
Join CALTAP instructors to learn how local public agencies can use Esri's ArcGIS platform to create data-rich online municipal maps, with a focus on geolocating vehicle crash incidents and related roadway infrastructure.
ArcGIS for Local Public Agencies is the next step in our skill path for non-GIS professionals. This 4-hour online course follows last year's introductory lessons by exploring the power and application of ArcGIS, including how this software can be used to map vehicle incident data using UC Berkeley's TIMS database in preparation of municipal Road Safety Audits or Local Road Safety Plans.
Class participants will be guided through the process of installing the ArcGIS Pro software, working with its basic features, accessing and geomapping TIMS datasets, building a vehicle incident map, and adding infrastructure attributes. Those without an ArcGIS Pro license can take advantage of Esri's free 21-day trial to complete the class exercises. A brief pre-class check-in will be offered to address installation and user interface questions.
Due to its hands-on nature virtual seating is limited. Register ASAP to secure a spot!
ArcGIS is a geospatial platform that integrates and connects data through the context of geography.
Built by Esri, it provides world-leading capabilities for creating, managing, analyzing, mapping, and sharing all types of data. Organizations that use ArcGIS to analyze data in geographic context have a distinct decision-making edge.
