It's that time again! A new call for local highway safety improvement projects (HSIP) was recently announced on May 6th, 2024. Please join the Local Safety Team at Caltrans Division of Local Assistance (DLA) and FHWA as they kick-off HSIP Cycle 12.
Approximately $300M will be available to fund much needed safety projects on local roads. This webinar is intended to help local agencies and tribal governments find out the level of available funding, application preparation, application submittal process, and other details you will need to submit a successful application.
This live webinar is FREE and open to Caltrans employees along with California's local public agencies and tribes.
Highway Safety Improvement Program
HSIP is a core federal-aid program with the purpose of achieving a significant reduction in traffic fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads.
California's HSIP consists of three primary components:
- Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP)
- Program of Highway Safety Improvement Projects
- Railroad-Highway Grade Crossing Program
