USDOT is hosting a free 90-minute webinar that offers state DOTs and other agencies an overview of best practices on how to cut carbon emissions from transportation.
USDOT Deputy Assistant Secretary Ann Shikany and FHWA Administrator Shailen Bhatt will share the latest policies on transportation greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while state and MPO leaders will showcase their successful emission reduction strategies.
In addition, presenters will talk about recent developments that show progress in cutting GHG emissions from the transportation sector:
Developed by the DOE, DOT, HUD, and EPA, the Blueprint for Transportation Decarbonization is a landmark U.S. strategy for cutting all GHG emissions from the transportation sector by 2050.
Providing a comprehensive, system-level perspective of the entire transportation system across all passenger and freight modalities and fuels, this "blueprint" lays out three key strategies to achieving decarbonization:
