Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
On November 15, 2023, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced the opportunity to apply for $4.7M in FY2023 competitive grant funding to support transit services for the Innovative Coordinated Access & Mobility (ICAM) pilot program.
ICAM improves access to public transportation by building partnerships among health, transportation, and other service providers. The program provides competitive funding to support innovative projects for the transportation disadvantaged that will improve the coordination of transportation and non-emergency medical transportation services (NEMT) for older adults, people with disabilities, and people of low-income.
For FY2024, FTA intends to target funding for regional and statewide mobility management capital projects that support coordination and enable comprehensive community access, including access to NEMT, for underserved groups.
Applications must be submitted via grants.gov by February 13, 2024
Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) refers to people who are unable to transport themselves or purchase transportation due to their age, income status, or physical or mental disability.
Millions of TD Americans often lack the ability to use public transportation or provide their own transportation for services like job training, Medicaid appointments, and Head Start classes.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
