Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
WEBINAR: November 13, 2023, 10:00AM - 12:00PM PT [CLOSED]
The 2023 Crash Responder Safety Week (CRSW) is taking place from November 13–17. This FHWA-sponsored initiative communicates the simple steps everyone can take to keep roadway responders and the public safe around traffic incidents. The theme for CRSW 2023 is “Protect Those Who Protect You”, emphasizing the traveling public’s role in keeping responders safe while responders make roadways safe for all road users.
CRSW is an opportunity to promote road user awareness and adherence to Move Over laws and Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Responder Training for all traffic incident responders. FHWA has established a Campaign Toolkit with strategic CRSW outreach themes.
During the free National Kickoff Webinar for CRSW on Monday November 13, FHWA will honor responders, provide an overview of activities taking place across the country, and connect all responder stakeholders to kickoff this important week.
Participants will also have the opportunity to electronically sign the National CRSW Proclamation and hear a firsthand account of how responder struck by incidents reverberate within a family, throughout our responder community, and the broader public.
This National Kickoff Webinar may also feature a surprise

Traffic Incident Management (TIM) is the planned and coordinated multi-disciplinary process to detect, respond to, and clear traffic incidents so that traffic flow may be restored as safely and quickly as possible.
Effective TIM reduces the duration and impacts of traffic incidents; improves the safety of motorists, crash victims, and emergency responders; and reduces the frequency of secondary crashes.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
