Why Truck Parking?

Truck parking capacity is a nationwide problem as continued growth in truck traffic is outpacing the supply of public and private parking facilities needed for driver rest, decreasing safety for truck drivers and other vehicles on the road.

Safety is FHWA's top priority and helping to ensure that commercial drivers have a safe place to rest is part of that goal.

The role of the Coalition on Truck Parking is to share best practices and create products to disseminate information on truck parking issues.
