FHWA's Pavement & Materials program is introducing a new quarterly newsletter to give stakeholders more details about the Accelerated Implementation & Deployment of Pavement Technologies (AID-PT) program.
This summer's issue presents recent key program accomplishments, shares thoughts from FHWA staff in a new AID-PT overview video, provides updates on the new Mobile Asphalt Technology Center (MATC), and offers a video tour of the facility.

This FHWA program provides leadership and technologies for the delivery and management of safe, durable, cost effective, and sustainable pavements.
Its seven program areas are
Michelle Cooper is a concrete materials research engineer and lab manager for the Concrete Laboratory in the Office of Infrastructure Research & Development at Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC).
Her research focuses on concrete durability, concrete sustainability, Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC)-concrete bonding, grout and UHPC shrinkage, and rheology.
Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and a Master’s from Univ of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

California LTAP supports local public transportation agencies across the state by providing professional training, technical assistance, knowledge transfer, and worksite best practices and innovations that help them plan, manage, and maintain their roadway infrastructure.
