Automated Enforcement for Distracted Driving

Posted: 8/3/2026

WEBINAR: August 25, 2026, 10:00AM - 11:00AM PT

Road to Zero Frontiers of Technology: Automated Enforcement for Distracted Driving explores using AI camera technology to deter mobile phone use behind the wheel.

Most are aware of the dangers of using a mobile phone while driving, but this behavior has proven difficult to change, with distracted driving crashes killing thousands each year. What if the automated enforcement methods that have been so successful in reducing speeding and red light running could be used to deter phone use, too?

In this webinar hosted by the National Safety Council (NSC), leaders of a program in Minnesota explore the potential for automated enforcement of driving while distracted by mobile phones so that this dangerous behavior can be consistently deterred.

Presenters:

  • Sgt. Adam Moore, South Lake Minnetonka Police Department
  • Mike Avera, Account Director, Acusensus
  • Paul Aasen, President & CEO, Minnesota Safety Council
