Transformative Climate Communities Grants

Posted: 7/1/2026

The Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) program invests in community-led climate resilience projects in the state’s most overburdened communities. Its objectives are to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve public health and the environment, and support economic opportunity and shared prosperity.

TCC is making $82.5M available in implementation grants and $900K in planning grants.

Implementation Grants & Project Development Grants support holistic neighborhood-level projects and pre-development activities, respectively, to advance community-led goals.

Example of Eligible Activities:

  • Equitable housing and neighborhood development
  • Land acquisition for neighborhood stabilization
  • Solar installation and energy efficiency
  • Transit access and mobility

Planning Grants intend to support planning activities to prepare low-income, disadvantaged, and Tribal communities for future implementation of programs aligned with TCC Program Objectives. Planning activities should address community priorities and directly benefit these communities.

Example of Eligible Activities:

  • Building internal and partner capacity to support collaborative partnerships
  • Conducting fiscal analyses to assess long-term costs of future development
  • Conducting inclusive community engagement that incorporates input from residents
  • Identifying and preparing project sites for future community-serving uses

Applications are due NLT September 30, 2026
