SPECIAL EVENT: July 31, 2026, 12:00PM - 2:00PM PT
APWA Sacramento is hosting a special screening of Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong, an insightful documentary exploring the challenges, complexities, and importance of infrastructure and public works systems, with a special focus on wastewater treatment.
Part of APWA's Young Professionals outreach, this free in-person Lunch 'n Learn is presented at the Sacramento Area Sewer District, Valley Oak Conference Room, 10060 Goethe Rd, Sacramento, CA 95827.
The documentary highlights the state of America's aging infrastructure by spending time with the staff inside a wastewater treatment plant in Portland, Maine, and examining their struggles with old equipment, forever chemicals, and a public that does not comprehend all that goes into keeping our environment clean.
Following the film, attendees can participate in a moderated Q&A with industry professionals to continue the conversation around infrastructure resilience, risk management, and the future of public works.
APWA Young Professionals provides a space for early-career public works professionals to connect, learn, and grow within the APWA community.
Through networking, professional development, and service opportunities, YP supports the next generation of our public works leaders.
