Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced the availability of $217M in grant funding to improve safety in the U.S. trucking and bus industries.
Funding is available for 4 different programs:
“These grants reflect FMCSA’s commitment to advancing safety while supporting the continued growth of the commercial motor vehicle industry” said FMCSA administrator Derek Barrs. “By partnering with states, training providers, law enforcement, and nonprofit organizations, we are helping build a stronger transportation workforce, improving safety outcomes, [and] moving freight more safely and efficiently across the country.”
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Its primary mission is to prevent crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large commercial trucks and buses through strict regulation, safety education, and enforcement.

California LTAP supports local public transportation agencies across the state by providing professional training, technical assistance, knowledge transfer, and worksite best practices and innovations that help them plan, manage, and maintain their roadway infrastructure.
