This Child Passenger Safety (CPS) certification course conducted in Blue Lake, CA, presents the proper use of car seats, booster seats, seat belts, and vehicle safety systems.

The CPS certification course equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to correctly install and use child restrain systems, ensuring children's safety in vehicles, combining classroom instruction with hands-on activities like car seat installation and a community safety seat checkup event.

  • Effective communication skills to educate caregivers
  • Important information & resources on the safe transportation of children
  • Basic technical knowledge about car seats, booster seats, & seat belt systems

Successful completion results in national certification as a CPS technician for two years.

In her 15 years in public health and human services, Carrie Brown has served communities as Director of Human Services, Tribal Health & Human Services Director, Safety Circuit Rider, and currently Director of the NVLTAP.

Carrie's expertise is in training delivery with a focus on cultural sensitivity; her mission is to empower agencies to strengthen their communities through transportation countermeasures and safety initiatives.
