Federal Aid Series: Environmental Requirements

The Caltrans Division of Local Assistance Office of Environmental Compliance & Outreach (ECO) presents the Federal Aid Series: Environmental Requirements, a full-day online training covering the environmental review process for federal-aid transportation projects from scoping through monitoring.

This training covers differences between On-System and Off-System projects, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) vs California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) scoping with the Preliminary Environmental Study (PES) screening, and how to determine class of action for non-infrastructure projects. 

Session Highlights:

  • Performing technical studies
  • Obtaining review & approval
  • Completing final PS&E & obtaining permits
  • Monitoring mitigation during construction
  • Performing re-evaluations
