The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is hosting “Improving Mobility in Rural & Tribal Communities”. A webinar that explores strategies for designing and implementing public transit services that address the unique travel needs of rural and tribal communities. Participants will learn about emerging service models, operational considerations, and ways to improve efficiency and accessibility in low-density contexts.

This webinar highlights practices drawn from National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Research Report 1144 and Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Research Report 251, providing real-world examples, lessons learned, and practical guidance. Presenters will discuss approaches to service planning, communications with passengers, safety and security considerations, and ensuring effective service delivery in diverse rural and tribal settings.
