Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
TRAINING: March 17, 2026, 8:00AM - 10:00AM PT
Maintaining local roads efficiently while maximizing limited funding can be challenging for agencies of any size. The Nevada LTAP (NVLTAP) is organizing the Managing Local Roads Effectively series, providing practical, hands-on guidance on Transportation Asset Management (TAM).
This data-driven approach helps agencies select the right projects and treatments to keep roads in the best condition for the longest time. The three-part live virtual program demonstrates how even small changes in planning and data management can lead to significant improvements in road performance and long-term resilience.
Over three sessions, participants will learn actionable strategies for implementing TAM, making the most of available funding, and communicating effectively with elected officials and residents. Each module focuses on a critical aspect of TAM:
Module 1, March 17, 2026: Introduction to TAM – Covers TAM principles, key components, and examples from local agencies on how TAM improves road planning and performance. Register Here
Module 2, March 24, 2026: Tools That Advance Asset Management – Explains data collection, analysis methods, and software tools that help agencies make informed decisions and funding. Register Here
Module 3, March 31, 2026 : Maximizing Your Investment & Managing Risk – Explores risk-based prioritization, applying TAM to bridges, drainage, and other assets, and balancing competing priorities such as safety and mobility. Register Here

Instructors:
Transportation Asset Management (TAM) is a systematic approach that helps agencies prioritize road maintenance and improvement projects based on data and long-term planning.
TAM combines information about road conditions, costs, and risks to guide investments and maintenance schedules. This approach helps local agencies improve performance, plan for the future, and communicate needs clearly to elected officials and the community.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
— Robert Brady
California LTAP supports local public transportation agencies across the state by providing professional training, technical assistance, knowledge transfer, and worksite best practices and innovations that help them plan, manage, and maintain their roadway infrastructure.
