Professionals in facilities and grounds management face complex challenges that require both practical knowledge and strategic planning. The American Public Works Association (APWA) is presenting the Facilities & Grounds Management Certificate Program, a live, virtual training designed to provide essential skills and insights for success in these critical roles. This program covers topics including ADA compliance, grounds maintenance, preventative maintenance, and capital improvement planning, combining real-world examples with interactive instruction.

Over two weeks, participants will attend four live virtual sessions, each two hours long, allowing for instructor interaction, peer networking, and online discussions. Sessions will also be recorded so participants can revisit content or catch up if they miss a class.

Learning Objectives:

  • List the core topics facilities and grounds professionals should master
  • Discuss considerations for day-to-day planning and long- and short-range objectives
  • Identify key information for developing programs, initiatives, and budgets
