Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
WEBINAR: February 12, 2026, 10:00AM - 11:30AM PT
Connected & automated vehicle (CAV) technologies are evolving rapidly, requiring state DOTs to continually adapt their programs, policies, and partnerships. The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is hosting, "Six Steps to Advance State DOT Connected & Automated Vehicle Programs", a webinar highlighting key lessons learned from a first-of-its-kind nationwide peer exchange of CAV program managers and practitioners from 39 state DOT infrastructure owners and operators.
This webinar presents findings from the NCHRP 20-24(147) project, Identify Best Practices for Automated Driving Systems & Other Emerging Technologies, with a focus on six cross-cutting priorities for action and practical approaches for implementation. Topics include organizational readiness, cross-state coordination, and collaboration with original equipment manufacturers, vendors, and data consumers.
Presenters will share how these priorities can help state DOTs and their public and private partners advance safety and mobility goals and overcome common barriers to successful technology deployment. Whether you're leading CAV initiatives at your state DOT or working to understand how automated vehicle technologies will impact infrastructure planning and operations, this webinar offers valuable insights from peers across the nation.
Webinar Objectives:
Connected & Automated Vehicle (CAV) technologies represent the convergence of vehicle automation, wireless communication, and intelligent transportation systems.
These innovations enable vehicles to communicate with each other, with infrastructure, and with cloud-based systems to enhance safety, efficiency, and mobility.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
