Guardians of the Worksite: A Safety Training Series

The Western Tribal Technical Assistance Program (WTTAP) is hosting a 4-day safety training series in Crescent City, CA. Attend one or all … certificates of completion will be awarded at the end of each training session.

March 23, 2026 – Basic Work Zone Traffic Control

  • The purpose of this workshop is to show participants ways to reduce fatalities and injuries caused by road departures and collisions with fixed objects, as well as collision at rural intersections.

March 23, 2026 – Sign Maintenance Management

  • This 2.5-hour workshop explores the rationale for using various kinds of signs and sign supports and shares best practices for sign management systems

March 24, 2026 – Low-Cost Safety Improvements

  • This course provides examples of low-cost maintenance and safety improvements on roads, stressing the importance of road safety, and how it can be integrated into tribal transportation construction, operations, and maintenance

March 25, 2026 – Intro to OSHA, Fall Protection, Confined Space, PPE

  • Falls are among the most common causes of serious work related injuries and deaths. Employers must set up the work place to prevent employees from falling off of overhead platforms, elevated work stations or into holes in the floor and walls

March 26, 2026 – Trench & Excavation, Cranes, Electrical Safety, Health Hazards

  • This course focuses on preventing the main hazards in trenching and excavations like cave-ins, falls, roll-overs, confined spaces, traffic, underground utilities, soil identification, and other related hazards

March 26, 2026 – ATSSA Flagger Certification

  • This workshop covers why proper flagger operations are important, skillset of a good flagger, standard flagger control references, and best practices for situations


To support WTTAP's core mission, tribal applicants will be given priority registration.
All non-tribal applicants will be waitlisted until this process has been completed.
