The Nevada LTAP continues its Tailgate Talk series—a casual forum to discuss a range of topics—with an online session focusing on Equipment Safety & Maintenance.
Routine maintenance and safety play an important role in both equipment performance and roadway safety. Maintaining equipment in a proper and timely manner is a foundational cornerstone of transportation, construction, and public works agencies.
To assist agencies in meeting their safety and performance goals, the Equipment Safety & Maintenance Tailgate Talk provides a casual forum to discuss introductory maintenance practices, safety checklists, and basic daily safety procedures for operators and supervisors.
What to Expect:
This session is ideal for transportation agency personnel, contractors, asset managers, consulting engineers, inspectors, and decision-makers involved in the planning, execution, and oversight of equipment safety and maintenance.
Michael Kees served as Fleet Maint Tech for Washoe County School District for 30 years, managing & maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.
He brings over 18 years of experience operating and instructing on forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts, promoting safety, efficiency, and proper equipment handling across multiple operations.
