Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
The American Public Works Association (APWA) has renewed its Roving Reporter educational series for a fourth season, with new episodes coming quarterly.
The updated series highlights the towns, companies, and people advancing public works through innovation and technology. The Roving Reporter researches public works topics and reports on these innovative solutions and how they influence various aspects of public works.
For this season's first episode, “The Deep Tunnel,” APWA visited the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago's massive Tunnel and Reservoir Plan (TARP) to learn more about how this project continues to implement sound flood solutions to handle large storm events and keep communities safe and dry. The multi-billion dollar infrastructure project is a secondary sewer system that includes miles of deep tunnels and large reservoirs.
