RSCP 2025: Approaches to Population-Level Behavior Change

Posted: 11/3/2025

TRAINING: December 17, 2025, 10:00AM - 12:00PM PT

The National Center for Rural Road Safety (NCRRS) is presenting "Public Health Approaches to Population-Level Behavior Change" as part of this season's Public Health Pathway of their Road Safety Champion Program (RSCP), a nationally recognized certificate program designed to build a knowledgeable, safety-minded workforce responsible for operating, maintaining, and designing local roads.

This module will provide an overview of how public health approaches can be drawn upon to design and implement programs to change behaviors among populations. This will include key distinctions between individual and population-level behavior change models, the role public health policy and built environment changes can enhance traffic safety; and example applications of public health behavior change models to traffic safety in the U.S.

RSCP is open to all staff from transportation, public health, and law enforcement agencies who have an interest in roadway safety but are not safety experts.
