Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
The 40th Annual Regional Local Roads Conference, held October 22–25, 2025 in Sioux Falls, SD, brought together rural and municipal local road professionals from across the region. This year's conference was dedicated to training sessions that impact local roadway users and to help make our local roads safer and more efficient for all roadway users.

Local roads conferences are gatherings of professionals, such as highway superintendents, engineers, and elected officials, to discuss the planning, building, and maintenance of local roadways, that provide a platform for sharing ideas, learning about new technologies, and addressing challenges related to road safety and efficiency.

California LTAP supports local public transportation agencies across the state by providing professional training, technical assistance, knowledge transfer, and worksite best practices and innovations that help them plan, manage, and maintain their roadway infrastructure.
