Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
TRAINING: November 5, 2025, 8:00AM - 10:30AM PT
The Nevada Local Technical Assistance Program (NVLTAP) is hosting a 2.5-hour webinar to explore the basics of longitudinal roadside barriers.
Topics include when and why roadway barriers are needed, the types and characteristics of barriers, and how to locate guidance for their placement and installation. There will be a review of maintenance requirements for roadside barriers and the important role maintenance plays in keeping barriers performing as designed.
Participants will have a chance to use resources such as the AASHTO Roadside Design Guide to answer questions and make decisions about real-world scenarios you might encounter when placing barriers.
This course is ideal for state, regional, county, city, and tribal personnel who manage, inspect, maintain, and repair longitudinal roadside barriers.
Training Objectives:
Jeff Jasper is the Program Leader of the Kentucky Transportation Center’s (KTC) Project Development Program where he directs research on highway project management, roadway design engineering, and roadside safety.
Mr. Jasper has led several roadside safety research initiatives for KTC, including In-Service Evaluation of High-Tension Cable Barrier Systems and MASH Analysis of KTC’s Standard Drawings.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
