Using Concrete Overlays for Local Agencies

Posted: 10/3/2025

WEBINAR: October 30, 2025, 9:00AM - 10:00AM PT

Michigan Technological University's Center for Technology & Training (CTT) is hosting a free 1-hour webinar to explore the benefits, design considerations, and project examples of concrete overlays as a cost-effective pavement solution.

Concrete overlays for roads are a thin, durable layer of concrete applied over an existing asphalt or concrete pavement to extend its life and improve its surface.

Concrete overlays offer public agencies an economical, long-lasting solution for extending the life of existing asphalt, composite, or concrete pavement, and in-turn contributes meaningfully to an agency’s asset management program. A low-maintenance service life of 20 years has been reported, with many overlays lasting 30 to 40 years.

This webinar is ideal for engineers, technicians, and managers who use concrete as part of their projects.
