Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
WEBINAR: September 17, 2025, 10:00AM - 11:00AM PT
The New York State DOT (NYSDOT) is hosting a free webinar on its approach to implementing internal curing (IC) in concrete bridge decks.
NYSDOT conducted field and laboratory studies to evaluate the effectiveness of IC in controlling cracking and addressing durability concerns. As a lead state championing the use of IC, specifications developed also support adoption by all stakeholders involved.
Topics Covered:
This webinar is hosted under the EDC-7: Enhancing Performance with Internally Cured Concrete Initiative (EPIC2). Internal curing increases concrete’s resistance to early cracking, allowing the production of higher-performance concretes that may last more than 75 years. Other benefits include versatility, cost savings, and a reduction of carbon emissions.

Now in its 7th round, FHWA's EDC state-based initiative identifies and deploys proven innovations that will make our transportation systems more adaptable, sustainable, and safer for all.
FHWA works with state DOTs, local governments, tribes, private industry, and other stakeholders to identify new innovations to champion every two years that merit accelerated deployment.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
