The Western Tribal Technical Assistance Program (WTTAP) is hosting a Child Passenger Safety (CPS) certification course from August 25-28, 2025, at the Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center in Reno, NV.
This CPS certification course equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to correctly install and use child restrain systems, ensuring children's safety in vehicles, combining classroom instruction with hands-on activities like car seat installation and a community safety seat checkup event.
Successful completion of the course results in national certification as a CPS technician for two years.

The Western Tribal Technical Assistance Program (WTTAP) supports indigenous communities in managing and enhancing their transportation infrastructure.
WTTAP provides vital training, resources, and technical assistance to tribal agencies, empowering them to build and maintain safer, more effective roads and transportation systems.
In her 15 years in public health and human services, Carrie Brown has served communities as Director of Human Services, Tribal Health & Human Services Director, Safety Circuit Rider, and currently Director of the NVLTAP.
Carrie's expertise is in training delivery with a focus on cultural sensitivity; her mission is to empower agencies to strengthen their communities through transportation countermeasures and safety initiatives.
