Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
It's that time of year again!
CALTAP is relaunching "Build a Better Mousetrap" (BABM) in March 2023. BABM is a statewide competition recognizing local agencies who are using innovation to solve transportation-related problems and improve job safety and efficiency while saving costs. If you’ve devised a new way to tackle a work-related challenge, we’d like to hear about it!
Competition winners, selected by our industry panel, receive an opportunity to present at the next Caltrans Innovation Expo, move forward to the National BABM Competition, and receive a year’s worth of free LTAP training.
Check-out last year's winners, we'll be announcing contest deadlines and the application process shortly.
BOLD STEPS: The City of Auburn deployed an app-based On-Demand Transit System to allow more residents to freely navigate the city.
INNOVATIVE PROJECTS: Ventura County created an SOP Checklist to simplify paperwork & guide engineers through every step of the project delivery process.
SMART TRANSFORMATION: The City of Santa Clarita deployed a centralized, remotely accessible Traffic Database as the City’s one-stop repository of traffic data & information.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
— Robert Brady
California LTAP supports local public transportation agencies across the state by providing professional training, technical assistance, knowledge transfer, and worksite best practices and innovations that help them plan, manage, and maintain their roadway infrastructure.
