Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is in the process of certifying California’s truck size & weight program.
During this process, FHWA and Caltrans are asking for your assistance to evaluate the oversize and/or overweight transportation permit fee schedules of California counties and cities who issue transportation permits.
In addition, FHWA is requesting links to the resources of the regulation, ordinance, statute, etc., for those fee schedules.
With 5 minutes of your help, this certification process can be quick and efficient. Please help by completing our brief, five-question survey to assist with this process.
Your response to this short survey is greatly appreciated!

To preserve our nation's infrastructure and to keep trucks and buses moving efficiently, states must ensure that commercial motor vehicles comply with federal size and weight standards.
FHWA is responsible for certifying state compliance with federal standards, however Caltrans may issue a special permit to operate a vehicle that exceeds California's Vehicle Code limits.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
