WEBINAR: October 13, 2026, 10:00AM - 12:00PM PT
This virtual peer-to-peer discussion brings together Safety Service Patrol (SSP) professionals from across the country to share experiences, policies, and lessons learned related to the use of emergency lighting and sirens on SSP vehicles.
The discussion, hosted by the SafeHighways.org SSP Idea Sharing Network, explores state laws and requirements, light colors and placement, certification and training, responder and motorist safety, visibility, and the benefits and challenges of operating with lights and sirens.
Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss emerging lighting technologies, including UV lighting, and approaches to gaining agency and legislative support for changes to SSP lighting policies.
SafeHighways.org is a specialized forum and networking platform dedicated to the Safety Service Patrol (SSP) community.
The organization connects directors, managers, and operators to share best practices, track industry data, and host collaborative sessions on critical highway incident management topics
