Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
WEBINAR: October 13, 2026, 11:00AM - 12:00PM PT
This 1-hour webinar provides an overview of the findings from a recent Federal Transit Administration (FTA) study that evaluated how organizations are linking asset-related performance targets and state of good repair goals to funding decisions.
The study included a structured scan of agencies nationally, resulting in 11 case studies on the leading practices identified in MPOs, transit agencies, and State DOTs to support more effective, data-driven transportation decision-making.
The case studies also evaluate the role of interagency coordination on programming decisions and identify replicable approaches for aligning long-range goals, performance measures, and near-term investment strategies.
Presentations from North Carolina, Arizona and Indiana will explore themes for performance-based planning and programming, including:
The Federal Transit Administration supports transit systems nationwide, including buses, subways, light rail, commuter rail, trolleys and ferries, through funding and technical assistance.
FTA also oversees safety, protecting transit riders and workers, and helps develop the next generation of transit innovation through research.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
