Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
TRAINING: September 17, 2026, 10:00AM - 11:00AM PT
Fundamentals of Concrete Pavement Materials & Mix Designs provides a clear, practical foundation in the materials and mix-design principles that drive durable, high-performance concrete pavements.
This workshop, presented by the Southwest Concrete Pavement Association (SWCPA), introduces how cementitious materials, aggregates, water, admixtures, and supplementary components interact—and how their selection and proportioning shape strength, durability, constructability, and long-term pavement behavior.
Building on the fundamentals, the session explains the chemistry, environmental influences, testing methods, and specification requirements that govern concrete performance from batching and placement through decades of service.
Participants will learn how mix-design decisions translate into real-world pavement outcomes and leave better equipped to evaluate materials, interpret mix designs, and make informed choices that support long-life pavement performance.
Presenters:
The Southwest Concrete Pavement Association (SWCPA) is the regional trade association for the concrete pavement industry in California and Nevada.
SWCPA supports its members through concrete pavement promotions, specification development, government affairs, and pavement research.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
