Every project, seen or unseen, powers the connection between service & the people it supports
National Public Works Week
Each year during the third week of May, the American Public Works Association (APWA) sponsors National Public Works Week (NPWW), a nationwide observance celebrating the professionals who keep our communities moving, safe, and connected.
NPWW recognizes the civic professionals who plan, design, build, manage, and maintain the infrastructure that supports public health and quality of life. This year’s theme, Rooted in Service, Powered by Community, highlights the dedication of public works professionals and the essential role they play in supporting everyday life.
We'd love to see how your community is celebrating! Share your photos and materials to be featured in our website collage — click the Submit for NPWW button or send them our way at admin@caltap.org. As NPWW 2026 approaches, more events will be added, so be sure to check back for additional celebrations happening across the country.
Public works professionals are the quiet heroes who keep our communities functioning every single day.
