What is Retroreflectivity?

Retroreflectivity, or retroreflection, is an optical phenomenon in which reflected rays of light are preferentially returned in directions close to the opposite of the direction from which the rays came.

The most common use of retroreflectivity is for highway safety, especially at night and in low-visibility conditions.

By making traffic signs, pavement markings, and safety apparel highly visible, it helps prevent accidents and improve navigation.
