California LTAP provides technical training to develop a more in effective, efficient, and innovate workforce.
The Federal Highway Administration established the Local Technical Assistance Program in the 1980s to help local agencies across the U.S. increase the quality and safety of their surface transportation system.
Each LTAP center enables local agencies to increase transportation expertise at the local level. They provide localities with access to materials prepared at the national level and promote the effective use of research findings and innovations for improving transportation at the local level.
Workshops and other professional development opportunities are provided by LTAP centers to local agencies as a way to help them effectively manage their local transportation departments.
